Michael is a Partner of Wilkinson Rodgers. Prior to commencing practice as a lawyer, he was a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and specialised in accountancy for rural clients.
A rural specialist, Michael draws on over 40 years’ experience advising clients on business and legal matters related to farming. He is a recognised expert in succession planning and business restructuring. Michael also specialises in wills and trusts, and is a member of the International Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP).
Other aspects of Michael’s practice include elder law, business sales and acquisitions, business structuring medical practices, succession planning for businesses, commercial property sales and purchases, house sales and purchases including first home buyers and kiwisaver, relationship property, powers of attorney and general legal matters.
Michael is a trustee of the Corstorphine Baptist Community Trust, which delivers mental health services to the community. In his spare time, he is an avid fisherman, deer and duck hunter and gardener. He is married to Tania who is a GP and has 2 adult daughters, an adult step-son and an adult step-daughter. He is also man-servant to Boss the Labrador.
