A University of Otago Law and Arts graduate, Jenny is a Partner of Wilkinson Rodgers. She is an Elder Law specialist whose area of practice includes PPPR applications, wills and Powers of Attorney, relationship property, trusts, asset protection, succession and estate planning.
Jenny is also an employment lawyer, spending much time in Employment Relations Mediations and, where mediation has failed, appearing before the Employment Relations Authority and in the Employment Court. She and Werner are also two of Dunedin’s three specialist Immigration lawyers. Jenny believes in taking a pragmatic, solution-focussed and common-sense approach to whatever presents.
In the community, Jenny is a long serving trustee of both the Otago Community Hospice Trust and the Otago Hospice Foundation Trust, a trustee of the Shacklock Charitable Trust, past President of Otago Junior Tennis, and Honorary Solicitor for the Otago Piping and Dancing Society. She has also done her time on many school committees and during that time did of course become an expert in bulk cheese rolls.
Outside of the law, Jenny’s biggest challenge remains Thursday night bridge and with no disrespect to their own four children, right now she and her husband John would rate their two-year-old grandson Louis as their finest achievement.
