Emily Hannagan

Senior Solicitor

Relationship property law, disputes, wills and estates.

“I have a special interest in relationship property and disputes matters. In particular I advise clients wishing to contract out of the relationship property law at the beginning of a relationship and assist clients to reach satisfactory relationship property division following a separation. I work with clients to raise or respond to disputes and provide guidance to clients to navigate the disputes tribunal process and assist with small claims generally. I have experience with wills and estates as well as residential and commercial property matters."

Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Criminology) from the University of Victoria in 2014 and joined the Complaints Assessment Team for the Health and Disability Commissioner in Auckland prior to being admitted to the bar.

Emily joined Wilkinson Rodgers in 2017 when she moved home to Dunedin.

Aside from her role as Senior Solicitor, Emily is a board member of Stopping Violence Dunedin and a member of OWLS (Otago Women Lawyers’ Society).

Away from work, Emily loves to spend time in Wanaka with her family and to explore all the playgrounds and child-friendly spots of Dunedin with her mini.

Emily is currently on parental leave and will return in 2022.

Emily in three words: honest, understanding, attentive.
