Catherine Donaldson

 Specialist in business and commercial law including business purchases.

“I set up business structures, shareholders agreements, limited partnership agreements and constitutions and assist clients with business transactions, in a diverse range of businesses from cafes to medical practices. I have worked with companies, limited partnerships, sole traders and partnerships and can advise clients on other legal aspects of their business for example leases and financing. In my trusts and asset planning work, I regularly create trusts for clients for business purposes and succession planning."

Catherine also has a special interest in working with rural clients and enjoys advising them on rural and land law.

Catherine graduated from the University of Otago in 2012 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in International Business. She received an award from the University of Otago for German and an award from the College of Law for top marks in the Commercial and Corporate Practice module, among other prizes, when she was completing her professional legal studies course. Catherine joined Rodgers Law (which later merged with Wilkinson Adams to become Wilkinson Rodgers) in 2012 and was admitted in 2013.

Catherine has been on the Otago Women Lawyer Society (OWLS) Committee for three years and is also currently the Deputy Chair for Stopping Violence Dunedin, and a trustee of the Otago Welfare Guardianship Trust.

Away from work, Catherine has the arduous task of landscaping her garden. When she can, Catherine also enjoys going for walks around Dunedin and Otago.
