Michael is a Partner of Wilkinson Rodgers. Prior to commencing his LL.B. in 1998, he was a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and specialised in accountancy for rural clients.
A rural specialist, Michael draws on over 30 years’ experience advising clients on business and legal matters related to farming. He is a recognised expert in succession planning and business restructuring. Michael also specialises in wills and trusts, and is a member of the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP).
Other aspects of Michael’s practice include elder law, business sales and acquisitions, business structuring (including for medical practices), succession planning for businesses, residential and commercial property sales and purchases, relationship property, powers of attorney and general legal matters.
Michael is a trustee of the Corstorphine Baptist Community Trust, which delivers mental health services to the community. In his spare time, he is an avid fisherman, deer and duck hunter and gardener. He is father to two adult daughters and Boss the Labrador.
