Geoff is Managing Partner of Wilkinson Rodgers Lawyers. Born in South Africa, he arrived in New Zealand in 1964 and was educated at John McGlashan College and the University of Otago. Commencing legal practice in 1978, Geoff has been with the firm since 1981.
Geoff’s areas of legal expertise are extensive. On a day-by-day basis, he advises clients on – among other matters – business structuring and re-structuring, residential and commercial property sales, company, trust and partnership matters, asset protection and relationship property. He has a special interest in the law of Enduring Powers of Attorney and applications to the Family Court for the appointment of welfare guardians and property managers.
Integral to all Geoff’s work is understanding his clients’ needs to provide quality solutions and legal support.
A passionate advocate of community work, in 2013 Geoff was made a Member of the Order of New Zealand Merit for Services to the Community. During his first two years of practice, he was involved in establishing the North Otago Budget Advisory Service, and is Foundation Chair of the Otago Welfare Guardianship Trust. Geoff has also chaired the following organisations (among others):

Giving back to both his colleagues and the Profession is a priority. Geoff chairs the NZ Law Limited Trust Special Interest Group, and coordinates its Junior and Senior Solicitor training programmes. He is also a consultant on trust matters to law firms within the NZ Law Group.
